The Sea Trout is an anadromous or "sea-run" trout closely related to the Atlantic Salmon. It is endemic to the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, and the Baltic, spending most of its life in the sea while returning to freshwater to spawn. Once done spawning, adult Sea trout return to the sea while fry develops in rivers and makes their way out to sea as they mature. Sea Trout are predatory fish, feeding on invertebrates and fish. The species is highly prized by anglers, though is under threat due to habitat destruction and changes in river systems created by the erection of dams.
